Cubico Sustainable Investments, acting as a developer, proprietor, and operator, is progressing the development of the Marmadua Energy Park near Tara, Queensland.
The proposed initiative entails the establishment of a wind farm comprising up to 110 turbines, and is located north of Kumbarilla State Forest, about 22 km from Tara and 37 km from Dalby, in the Western Downs Regional Council local government area.
Forecasts suggest that the project will yield 700MW of wind energy, capable of supplying electricity to approximately 480,000 households across Queensland.
Since early 2023, Cubico has been engaging with landowners. The project has successfully completed internal feasibility assessments, ecology (fauna and flora) studies and cultural heritage studies. Further investigations into wind dynamics will continue.
Cubico is committed to engaging with the community to help shape the project and we are looking forward to meeting with more residents, community groups and other stakeholders.
