Thank you to those who attended our recent community engagement sessions in Tara and Weranga for the proposed Marmadua Energy Park. We greatly appreciate the community’s participation and the valuable feedback you shared with us.
During the sessions, we heard a wide range of views. Some attendees expressed concerns about possible impacts, such as noise, landscape changes, and property values. Others shared their thoughts on the potential ec onomic benefits and opportunities for local businesses.
We also had some great initial discussions about the proposed Community Benefits Fund, which generated insightful suggestions, including exploring options to improve water security and access for the community. There was also strong interest in the creation of training and apprenticeship programs to support long-term local employment. We are keen to hear more from you about how this funding could best be distributed and invite you to complete a short survey > Community Benefit Fund Survey
Your feedback will help ensure that the fund supports projects and initiatives that align with community values, needs and priorities.
In the coming months, we’ll be back out in the community to continue providing updates as the project progresses and gathering feedback.
