Community Benefits

Community Benefit Agreement

Cubico is working closely with Western Downs Regional Council to develop a Community Benefit Agreement (CBA) for Marmadua Energy Park.

The CBA is intended to help ensure the project delivers meaningful and lasting benefits for host landholders and the broader community, while supporting local priorities identified through ongoing engagement and consultation.

Potential initiatives that could be supported through the Community Benefit Agreement include:

  • Road and telecommunications upgrades
  • Housing diversity and affordable community housing
  • Funding for health services
  • First Nations workforce support
  • Support for local wildlife initiatives
  • Education support, including high school and TAFE collaborations
  • Recreation and sporting facilities
  • Community sponsorship and grant programs
  • Education Fund

Community feedback gathered through our engagement activities and as part of the Social Impact Assessment, continues to help shape the project’s benefits.

Community Grants and Sponsorship

Supporting projects that deliver lasting benefits for local communities.

Cubico’s Community Grants and Sponsorship Program provide funding to community groups, clubs, schools and not-for-profit organisations located near the Marmadua Energy Park project.

Funding supports initiatives that:

  • Strengthen community wellbeing and cohesion
  • Enhance local facilities or services
  • Support cultural, environmental or recreational activities
  • Build resilience and create lasting community benefits

These grants help deliver projects and initiatives that matter most to local communities.

Pre-development Funding

Through sponsorships, partnerships and community investment initiatives, Cubico has already supported a range of local projects, organisations and events in the Western Downs region.

This includes funding for community events, local initiatives, emergency services partnerships and programs that help strengthen regional communities.
